Singapore has all it takes to host the Youth Olympic Games. Do you agree? @ 1:57 AM

This is for the English Ace Assesment.I am sure you all know that Singapore has been chosen amongst the many other countries to host the 2010 Youth Olympic Games. I still remember during the day when the result was out, people gathered at the Padang to await the result.when they showed that our country was chosen to host the 2010 games,we rejoiced and celebrated. It is a Olympic event and people across the globe will be taking part in the competition. This games will not only boost our economy, but will also help to further train our athletes when they pit their skills with others.

However, have you ever wondered why Singapore was chosen to host the Youth Olympics? Singapore is just considered to be a small red dot on the world map.But why did Singapore prevail over the other countries? IN my opinion, I feel that the reason was that the other countries have at least organised a competitive event before while Singapore has not. Also, despite Singapore being a small port, our economy is very stable and business revenue rates one of the highest in the world. Another point is that the Olympic community probabaly wanted to see how Singapore- a small red dot will host a major event. They probably wanted to see Singapore standards and compare it to the rest of the world.

Despite these points, I do not really think that Singapore will put up a opening ceremony as grand as China who hosted the 2008 Olympic games. These is because Singapore does not have as much revenue as compared to China and our landspace is limited unlike China where it has mass land for bulding of structures. However, I still hope Singapore will put a good show and do us proud.

Lastly, I hope all athletes who are competing good luck.
